Tips for Growing a Vegetable Garden

Hi friends,

Happy August!  I wanted to post an update on our vegetable garden, since it's finally time to harvest just about everything.  We've been picking various veggies for a couple of weeks, including zucchini and summer squash, cucumbers, lettuce, green and purple string beans, and cherry tomatoes.  This week, we have found corn beginning to grow, ripening roma tomatoes, and bell peppers getting larger.

Our Northern Vermont Vacation

Earlier this summer, we took a quick trip to northern Vermont to a lake house with some friends.  We were lucky enough to find a home in Greensboro that could accommodate 9 adults, 2 toddlers, and 2 dogs, which made for a full, and fun house!  If you ask me, this is one of the best Vermont vacation spots!

Love Grows Here Because of You! Cute Cacti Coworker Gifts

Hi, friends!

Each year, my co-teacher and I give a small gift to our nearest and dearest coworkers, because to be honest, with 40 preschoolers, many mountains of paperwork, and lots of lots of hard work, we could not survive without these ladies!

This year, we decided to do something a bit different, and a little quirky.  I love the way they turned out, and I think the recipients enjoyed them too!

Welcome, Summer!

Hi there, and happy summer!

It's been a long time since I've posted- things get so busy, and so exhausting at the end of the school year, it just takes over everything!  Now, we're both lucky enough to be on summer vacation for a few weeks before summer school begins.

Felt Flower Garland

Hi everyone,

Happy sunny Sunday!  We are on school break this week, which I am so thankful for.  We've been battling some icky sickness around this house lately, and a break is so welcomed.

Freshen Up for Spring!

Hi everyone!

Sorry it's been a while- things have been awfully busy lately!

I wanted to stop in to share some of our refreshed spring decor.  I finally changed out some of our shelves and my dining room chalkboard (don't judge, but it still had a CHRISTMAS message. Whoops.)

I like to keep things colorful, but also light at this time of year.  I added some faux peonies to this navy planter, to the top of this bookshelf.

Our Easter Decor

Hi there,

Happy Monday! I hope you each had a wonderful weekend, and if you celebrate, a wonderful Easter too!

We had a fun and relaxing family day at my parents', which is, in my opinion, the best kind of holiday!  I always feel thankful that my family all lives close by, so it's easy to get together.

Speaking of Easter, I realized that I never go around to sharing my Easter decor.  Better late than never, right?  I'll probably leave my bunnies out for a week or two -I think they're too cute to put away just yet!

Spring Decor Roundup

Have you decorated for spring yet?  I tend to hold off until March, since I generally sort my seasonal decor into quarters, meaning spring = March, April, May.  You guys all break up the year too, right?  Gotcha.  I kept seeing all this super cute spring decor on Instagram, but it's still cold here, and at times snowy, so...

Anyway, I wanted to share some of my previous spring decor and projects, since I'm still working on a few new things for this year.

A Dog-Friendly Burlington, VT Winter Getaway

During our winter break, we decided to treat ourselves to a mini vacation in Vermont.  We've never vacationed there, so we were excited to explore someplace new.  It turns out that Burlington is known for being dog-friendly, has lots to do, and seemed like a great spot to head off to.  We really enjoyed the trip, even with terrible weather, and can't wait to go back another time.  I really rely on reading about others' experiences when planning a trip, especially when Lucy is coming, so I wanted to share our trip, with the hope it can help others.
