Fabric Flower Autumn Wreath

Hi everyone,

Gosh, it's been a while! I hope you're all enjoying a beautiful October, as we are here in New Hampshire!

The leaves have been changing for a handful of weeks now, and the colors have been so beautiful!

I also made another new fall wreath- this time with fabric flowers.  The first fall wreath I made can be found here, in case you missed it.  I really love how they both came out, and wanted to share the new one with you.

I started with a yarn-wrapped straw wreath form.  If you are new to making this type of wreath, check out this post for some tips.  The one piece of advice I want to share here is if you're using a straw wreath form, don't remove the plastic before wrapping it- there's no reason to, and it makes a big mess!

This time, I wanted to add fabric flowers instead of faux flowers, so I made some fabric rosettes with coordinating fall colors like yellow, tan, and orange.  I talked about making those flowers in this post, and I promise, they're really easy! I did glue these flowers to a felt circle for a more stable backing, and I think they're easier to work with that way.  I've made them before without this step and while it's possible, it's a bit trickier to wind them and hold them in place while you pin them to the wreath.

I also stitched some felt leaves to add on, and love how they turned out! They inspired another felt leaf project, which I'm working on now.

In other news, the foliage has been stunning here lately! I've found myself stopping often to snap a photo or two, and have had a lot of fun sharing them on my instagram account.  Here are some of my October favorites...

I've even been honored to be featured on another instagram account! These two photos were chosen by the HiyaPapayaPhotoADay team to repost on their feed to share with their followers.

If you don't follow them, you should! It's fun to play by tagging photos that go with their daily theme. :)

Also, this weekend was the Pumpkin Fest in NH, and so I went to check it out with some friends from college.  There were pumpkins everywhere, lining the streets, which was pretty neat to see!

My favorite pumpkin display was this tiered, vintage-esque fountain.  So pretty!

Have you been doing any fall crafting?  Share in the comments- I'd love to hear from you and see what you're up to!
