Love Grows Here Because of You! Cute Cacti Coworker Gifts

Hi, friends!

Each year, my co-teacher and I give a small gift to our nearest and dearest coworkers, because to be honest, with 40 preschoolers, many mountains of paperwork, and lots of lots of hard work, we could not survive without these ladies!

This year, we decided to do something a bit different, and a little quirky.  I love the way they turned out, and I think the recipients enjoyed them too!

I started by painting the top rim of three 6" terra cotta pots.  I chose 3 different shades of blue acrylic paint, and gave each one a few coats.

Once they were dry, we added a sand and soil mixture, and transplanted 2 cacti into each one.  I added a cute watercolor cacti tag, which unfortunately, I realized later that the image isn't set for public sharing/use, so I cropped it out here.  There are tons and tons of cute cactus images out there, though!

I added some text, and signed our names to the bottom, then attached them to a bamboo skewer and stuck them in the soil.

All in all, I think they are cute and a fun, different gift.  After all, who wouldn't love one of these fuzzy little guys, am I right? :)

I also came up with another tiny token of appreciation- some flavored Burt's Bees lip balms with cute bee gift tags.  I modified the text on the printable bee tags found here at Christine's blog I Dig Pinterest.   You can print her original teacher gift tags for free, and they're super cute!

If you are in need of another idea for a small, but sweet gift, party favor, or botanical decoration, check out these annuals we planted in mason jars last spring.

Happy gifting, and thanks for reading! :)
